The client / Slovakia

The client is a furniture design firm from Slovakia.

The challenge

Our client, who operates an existing online store powered by WordPress, was grappling with a pressing issue regarding excessively large images that were causing significant loading delays, spanning several seconds. This was hindering the overall user experience on their website and impeding the seamless browsing and purchasing process for their customers. The prolonged loading times have raised concerns about potential customer drop-offs and negatively impacting their online sales. As a result, our client searched a solution to optimize image loading, thereby ensuring a smoother and more engaging shopping experience for their visitors.

Our approach

We implemented a solution that effectively addressed our client's challenge by incorporating a caching mechanism. This strategic approach significantly mitigated the loading times for images that previously took more than 10 seconds to load, compressing them to a mere 200 milliseconds. By employing this cache-based optimization, we not only transformed the website's performance but also substantially improved the user experience. Furthermore, we enhanced the online store with additional features while also upgrading it to the latest version of WordPress.

Impact

These enhancements not only minimized potential customer drop-offs but have also fostered a more seamless and enjoyable shopping journey for their visitors while maintaining high quality of their presentation, ultimately boosting their online store's efficiency and sales potential.
